Can you register any microchip with AKC Reunite?
As a member of AAHA Pet Microchip Lookup, we enroll any brand of microchip! When you enroll your pet's microchip, your pet's ID is linked to your name, phone numbers, emergency contacts and other vital information in AKC Reunite's database.

How do I transfer pet microchip?
Understanding How a Microchip Works
- To transfer ownership of a pet that is currently registered to you, log in to your account.
- Then click on “Transfer” underneath the pet's name.
- The system will walk you through the steps of transferring the pet to a new owner's account.
Is AKC Reunite free?
Updates are free and can be made online at www.akcreunite.org or by phone, fax or e-mail. Many recovered pets are identified by their AKC Reunite collar tag, which displays AKC Reunite's toll free hotline (800-252-7894) and the pet's ID number.
How do I re register my dog's microchip?
Contact your usual vet, who may have recorded the number on their client records. Contact the implanter of the MicroChip, if not your usual vet. Take your pet to be scanned at the local vet, rescue centre or dog wardens service.
