What is CPU powerlifting?
The CPU National Powerlifting and Bench Press Championships is a yearly event that showcases and crowns Canada's best powerlifters and benchers. Winners of these events go on to compete at IPF International Championship events for Team Canada!
What age is Masters in powerlifting?
The IPF uses the following age categories: sub-junior (18 and under), junior (19-23), open (24-39), masters 1 (40-49), masters 2 (50-59), masters 3 (60-69), masters 4 (70+). Age category is dependent on the year of the participant's birth.
Can you compete in Usapl and USPA?
The absolute best lifters in the USAPL all competed at nationals, and the winners of nationals have the opportunity to possibly compete at worlds. USPA has these same competitions, but they do not usually attract the “best”.
How do you qualify for regionals at Usapl?
The total achieved at Regionals plus the +50kg handicap must be equal to or greater than the Qualifying Total (QT) for the Raw/Open National meet that the lifter enters. Due to COVID-19, no qualifying total is required for 2020 Regionals. 2020 Regionals will be consolidated into 4 Regions.
