Is the edTPA going away?
The Georgia Professional Standards Commission, which oversees teacher-preparation programs, unanimously voted Thursday to drop the statewide requirement, although individual programs can still require candidates to take the edTPA. The decision goes into effect on July 1.
Is the edTPA hard?
Completing the edTPA is about careful planning and hard work, but it's also psychological. As difficult as the edTPA can be at times, the requirements are widely considered best teaching practices.
How much does edTPA cost?
The edTPA costs $300, which includes official scoring and score reporting to the candidate and to the program designated by the candidate during registration. Additional score reports are $50. Retakes cost $100 for a single task (planning, instruction, or assessment) or $300 for a complete edTPA.
Where do I get edTPA templates?
Candidates are able to access the 2020–21 handbooks and templates in the Pearson ePortfolio system or other integrated platform provider systems.
