Who collects DHS data?
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) uses data to drive our decisions and influence progress toward our goals of preventing child and maternal deaths and controlling the HIV/AIDS epidemic. For over 30 years, USAID has pioneered The Demographic and Health Surveys Program (DHS Program).
How do I reference data in DHS?
Typically DHS recommended citations include the country name in brackets following a reference to the name of an implementing agency (e.g. Ministry of Health [Rwanda]) and an acronym name in parentheses following the name of an agency (e.g. Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT)).
