MIFA Emergency Services provides utility, rent, and mortgage assistance for Shelby County households who have lost income or experienced a recent crisis. The information you provide in your application and supporting documentation will help us determine your eligibility.

If an individual is currently homeless, the individual can be assessed for housing assistance by contacting the Hospitality Hub at 901-289-6578. Intake services are offered at the Hospitality Hub Plaza, located at 590 Washington Ave, Monday – Friday from 9 am – 4 pm.
How do I get emergency housing assistance in Tennessee?
You must contact the Tennessee Valley Coalition to End Homelessness @ 865-859-0749 to apply for one of these vouchers OR, for victims of domestic abuse, the YWCA Knoxville & The Tennessee Valley @ 865-523-6126. If approved, you will be able to choose your own home and make income-based rent payments.
