Test Content: The Nurse Aide Competency exam must be passed to be listed on the Illinois State Nurse Aide Registry. The written section is 85 multiple choice questions in length. You will have 90 minutes to complete the exam.
How do I renew my CNA license after it expires in Illinois?
Illinois requires its CNAs to renew their certifications every two years. The Department of Public Health will send you a renewal form several weeks before your certification's expiration date. You must fill this form out and submit it back to the Department to renew your certification.
