Who took over N&P?
On 1st November 2011 N&P merged with Yorkshire Building Society, one of the largest Building Societies in the UK. Following the merger YBS Group retained the Norwich & Peterborough Building Society brand as a trading name and continued to offer a full range of financial products to new and existing customers.

Is Yorkshire Building Society closing down?

Our customers are changing the way they manage their money with us and it's not sustainable, or a good use of members' money, to have a high concentration of YBS branches and agencies in a small area. We recently confirmed that 12 YBS branches proposed for closure will close on 5 February 2021.
How do I unlock my YBS account?
Access to your online account will be locked out after a number failed access attempts. You will need to call us to reset your account. After multiple failed biometric access attempts on a mobile application you will be required to re-register your device.
Can I access my Yorkshire Building Society account online?
To log-in, visit ybs.co.uk and click 'Login' in the top right corner. You'll be asked for your customer number or username, date of birth, and 3 characters from the password you created (either when you applied, or when you registered for online services).
