The NRMP is governed by a Board of Directors that includes medical school deans, program directors, residents and fellows, and non-physician members.
What is the difference between NRMP and eras?
Specifically, the ERAS is the system through which you will submit all of your residency application materials, while the NRMP is the organization that facilitates the actual matching process, once all of your documents have been submitted to your programs of interest.

- Step 3: Add Programs.
- Step 1: Click the orange “Certify List” button.
- Step 2: Read over the Summary.
- Step 3: Enter your Password and Submit.
Who Should Participate in soap?
To participate in SOAP, applicants MUST be registered for the Main Residency Match, unmatched or partially matched, AND able to enter graduate medical education (GME) on July 1 in the year of the Match. Eligibility of U.S. medical school seniors and prior-year graduates is determined by their medical school.
