Now Facebook is following suit, and we can all gasp in relief because we finally have an official alternative to its bulky clunky native Android app. The Facebook PWA is not showing up for everyone just yet.

You don't need native app, or even lousy Facebook Lite app. All you need is just web browser. Tap the notification, install and .. that's it. Your PWA will be listed as regular phone app.
How do I enable Facebook login from embedded browser?
The answer is to set the Facebook App to open links in a standard browser. To do this on Android mobile apps, tap the Facebook menu icon in the top right, scroll down to Settings & Privacy, tap Settings then scroll down to Media & Contacts, tap and then enable the Links open externally option. That's it.
