Is it worth being a member for the RCGP?
'Following discussions, we agreed it is desirable for prospective and current trainers to be members of RCGP, but not essential. The reason for it being desirable is because we recognise that for those with an interest in education and development it is a valuable resource to support their training role.
Can you rejoin RCGP?
When you re-join the RCGP, you are given a new enrolment date, as if you are a new member. You will only receive credit for the current and one previous year's membership. Requirements for reinstating: Pay the previous and/or current year membership fees in full, in order to receive membership benefits.

GPs who have been on the GMC GP register for a minimum of five years and have completed at least one revalidation cycle (or completed CEGPR) will now be eligible to apply for RCGP membership.
