When the schools changed ownership in 2016, a number of campuses closed. Then, in 2019, Dream Center Education Holdings entered receivership (often a precursor to bankruptcy) and closed almost all of its remaining Art Institutes, Argosy, and South University campuses.

In 2019 South University fired a large majority of their workforce including the online support staff located in Chandler, Arizona, closing the site. South University was expected to be transferred to Education Principle Foundation. In the meantime, all South campuses were being operated independently.

I have attended many colleges and South University is by far the best. South University is a school that really cares about your education. They make sure that each student stays on track with his/her studies. My overall experience at south has been phenomenal.
