How do I top my SSE smart meter?

Download our SSE Top-Up app. It's free to register and simple to use. Top up anytime, anywhere straight from your smart phone. Securely save your payment details to your account and you'll be able to top up your smart Pay As You Go meter in seconds.

How do I top up my electric SSE without my card?

If you haven't got your card to hand, contact us and we'll give this to you over the phone. You can also give us your email address and phone number. If we've got your email address, we'll be able to send you a receipt for your top-up payment. Next, you'll need to enter your payment details.

Why is my SSE top up not working?

If you're having problems topping up your meter, wipe your key or card gently with a clean dry cloth and put it back in. If this doesn't work, contact us and we'll be happy to help. If you've got a token that isn't working, take it back to the shop you where you got it so they can give you a new one.

Can I check my SSE balance online?

Access your energy account information with the My SSE App
It will show your up-to-date account balances and provide details of your next bill and payment dates. You can also submit a meter reading, or view your usage if you have a smart meter.

Can you top up SSE electric key online?

The easiest way is to top up online or use our SSE Top-Up app. You can also top up in any shop that offers PayPoint and branches of Post Office.

How do I top up my SSE Pay As You Go?

You can top up your Pay As You Go meter by taking your gas card or electricity key to your nearest Paypoint or Post Office branch. We have information on how you can check the amount of credit you have left on your meter and accessing emergency credit if you need it.
