How do I pay the toll on the Tamar Bridge?
We have introduced a contactless card payment system in some lanes at the Tamar Bridge. For those who do not use contactless cards we will be introducing a range of some social distancing measures to enable staff in the toll booths to safely process cash.
What is TamarTag?
TamarTag is the name of the Electronic Toll Collection system at the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry crossings. The system uses safe, secure and reliable communications technology to perform an electronic monetary transaction between a vehicle passing through one of the toll facilities and the toll operator.

The toll aboard the Torpoint Ferry is payable one way, on the trip from Torpoint (Cornwall) to Plymouth (Devon) except for motorcycles which are tolled from Plymouth (Devon) to Torpoint (Cornwall).
How do you pay Tamar Bridge toll?
The contactless card payment system at the Tamar Bridge has been successfully installed in the majority of toll lanes. The upgrade means that users who might otherwise pay by cash now have this payment option when travelling across the bridge. Contactless enabled lanes are signed as drivers approach the toll booths.
