Is Trulincs and CorrLinks the same?
Corrlinks is a privately owned company that operates the Trust Fund Limited Inmate Computer System (TRULINCS), the email system used by the United States Federal Bureau of Prisons to allow inmates to communicate with the outside world. CorrLinks is a subsidiary of Advanced Technologies Group.
How do I use Trulincs?
All the inmate has to do is add the outside contact's name, postal mailing address, and email address into their contacts folio via a TRULINCS computer and a system-generated email is sent to the outside contact with information on how to become an authorized contact.
What are Tru links?
Inmates incarcerated within the Federal Bureau of Prisons have access to the Trust Fund Limited Inmate Computer System (TRULINCS) which, among other functions, permits inmates to email with authorized members of the community.
How do I email a federal inmate?
In order to communicate with federal prison inmates, you must first receive an email request from them (which means you must first give them your email address). You can actually register for a CorrLinks account without first receiving the request; but you will not be able to email any inmates yet.
