What is the purpose of the VB-MAPP?
The Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) is a five-component program designed to measure verbal behavior, guide individualized instruction needed to address deficits in verbal behavior, and evaluate progress over the course of a treatment program (Sundberg 2008).
Can anyone administer the VB-MAPP?
This assessment is typically administered by a therapist and can take up to ten hours to administer, though it may not necessarily take this long to complete. The VB-MAPP can be administered in a variety of settings, including the clinic, home, or school.
What ages is VB-MAPP for?
The VB-MAPP can be helpful for an individual of any age whose language skills are not commensurate with the language skills of a 4-year-old typically developing child. Keep in mind that a typically developing 4-year-old has some very sophisticated language skills.
