The scope of practice for the LCAS includes the diagnosis of both mental health and substance abuse related disorders. The assessment will result in either a diagnosis of a substance related disorder, a mental health disorder, a co-occurring disorder, or no diagnosis.

The Alcohol and Drug Counselor Intern is the CADC applicant who has passed the IC&RC ADC Exam. In order to qualify for the IC&RC ADC exam, you must complete 300 hours of supervised work with a CCS or CSI at a ratio of 1 hour of supervision per 10 hours of work.
