Is Year Up a good organization?

In fact, Year Up's success rate is astounding. More than 13,000 young adults have gone through Year Up. Within four months of graduating, 85 percent of alumni have a full-time job or are enrolled full time in college. Their average starting salary is $36,000 a year, more than double the minimum wage.

Is Year Up only for Americans?

Year Up is committed to ensuring equitable access to economic opportunity, education, and justice for all young adults—no matter their background, income, or zip code.

Is Year Up remote?

COVID-19 has massively affected Year Up's operations and requires significant investments in technology and trainings for young adults to participate in our program, which has gone fully remote.

Can I do Year Up while in college?

If you enroll at a Year Up location housed at a college, you will receive college credit directly through that college. If you enroll at a stand-alone Year Up campus, you'll receive credit recommendations recognized at over 2,000 higher education institutions nationwide. I want to continue my college education.

Why is Year Up a good program?

Year Up aims to help young adults earn meaningful careers, which is amazing. The young adults are the best part! Many of them do gain amazing skills and jobs throughout the program and after. The management on all levels is poor.

What is the Year Up contract?

Year Up is designed as an alternative pathway for “disconnected” youth to enter livable-wage careers and postsecondary education. Year Up is an 11-month, integrated 2-phase educational program comprised of a Learning and Development phase, focused primarily on teaching students IT skills, and an Internship phase.
