Does HCF cover you overseas?
All levels of HCF Overseas Visitors Cover also include emergency ambulance services. We offer different levels of insurance, so you can choose as much or as little cover as you want. So you can enjoy your time in Australia with peace of mind that you can access affordable medical treatment if you need it.
Does Australian health insurance cover overseas?
No, Australian health insurance doesn't cover cover international travel, and you can't claim for medical expenses incurred overseas. Australian private health funds only provide cover for medical and hospital expenses you incur in Australia.
How do I claim HCF overseas visitor?
You can also claim by emailing your claim to [email protected], or take to a branch or send by post. You'll need to complete an HCF claim form and include it with your receipts. Or call our Overseas Visitors Helpline on 13 68 42 to learn more about claiming for extras.
What is my HCF member number?
Your membership number can be found: on the front of your HCF membership card. in the last 8 digits of the reference number on any letters or emails from us.
How do I cancel my HCF membership?
You can call us on 13 13 34. Alternatively, you can log in to online member services, go to contact us and then scroll down to the drop-down box enquiry type. Select cancel my cover to submit your request.
Do HCF cards expire?
WHAT TO LOOK FOR? Majority of members who have been with HCF for less than 5 years will still have the old card design. Unless they joined or requested a new card after November 10, 2017 - both cards are active for Opal members only.
How can I pay HCF online?
Making a payment online
If you have a health and/or life insurance policy with us, you can make a secure payment in the My Membership app or in online member services under 'Payments' then 'Make a payment'. You can pay up to 18 months in advance, depending on your cover.
