You can earn points for certification renewal by completing professional development activities such as nursing continuing education, continuing medical education, academic education, publications or presentations. You choose the activities. You will record and submit your renewal points in LearningBuilder.
What is ILNA?
About ILNA. The Individual Learning Needs Assessment (ILNA) method is the certification renewal process launched in 2016 by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation. The enhanced approach helps to ensure that every certified nurse has current knowledge in the subject areas represented by the credential.
What does an OCN do?
Oncology Certified Nurse or OCN® – The Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) credential means a nurse has the knowledge to competently care for adults with cancer. Nurses who are certified as OCN®s have wide knowledge of the many issues involved in providing care for patients with cancer.
How long is ons membership good for?
Remember, only generic drug names are used on ONCC tests. Once you pass the test, your certification is valid for four years.

How long does it take to get chemo certified?
How long does it take to complete the course? Data to date indicates that most learners are completing the course is approximately 15 hours. This is in line with the number of contact hours of continuing nursing education awarded.
How do you become a certified chemo nurse?
If you want to become an oncology certified nurse, you will have to take the Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) nurse exam. In order to sit for the exam, you must have a minimum of one year of experience as an RN and at least 1,000 hours of adult oncology nursing practice prior to your application.
