How do I renew my Lancashire County library books?
You can renew your library items up to 10 times.
- Renew online.
- In person at any Lancashire library.
- Phone our 24 hour automated service 0300 123 6704 (library card number and PIN required) or our Customer Contact Centre 0300 123 6703 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm)
- Email your local library.
How do I order library books online?
Go to your library's website (or library system) and look for a section called “Recommend a title” “Suggest a Title for Purchase” etc. It's often in the Contact Us tab. If the ebook is available on Overdrive but the library doesn't own it, you may be able to search on Overdrive and simply press the “Recommend” button.

How many books can you check out at a public library UK?
Adults can borrow up to 20 books, 10 DVDs and 10 CDs. Under-18s can borrow up to 20 books and 10 CDs. In addition you can borrow up to four ebooks from our eBooks. You can borrow books and CDs for three weeks and DVDs for one week.
