How do I access my myTax?
myTax is a government run service offered by the ATO that can be accessed through a myGov account. First of all, you will need to register for a myGov account, if you don't already have one. Then you go ahead and do your tax return yourself via the portal, without any direct support.
What is ATO myTax?
Lodging online with myTax is the quick, easy, safe and secure way for you to prepare and lodge your own tax return. The due date to lodge your tax return is 31 October.
Is myTax free?
Lodging with myTax is easy and free. Most information from employers, banks, government agencies and health funds will be automatically included in your tax return by late July. You just have to check the information is correct, enter any income that isn't there, add any deductions you have, and then submit.
How do I log into ATO portal?
To log in to the Business Portal or Online services for business, you need to use myGovID and Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM). The Business Portal is a free secure website for managing your business tax affairs with us. Use it until the end of July 2021 to lodge activity statements, request refunds and more.

Do Australian pensioners need to lodge a tax return?
If you are aged 60 years and above and have a taxable income, whether it is from investments or employment, you will need to lodge a tax return by 30th June each year. If you are not required to lodge a tax return but your Australian Taxation Office withholds taxes from your pension payments, file non-lodgement advice.
How do I retrieve my tax file number?
If you can't find your tax file number, we suggest:
- Looking on your income tax notice of assessment or other letters from us.
- Looking on a payment summary (provided by your employer) or your super statement.
- If you have a myGov account linked to the ATO, you can access your TFN online.
- Ask your tax agent (if you use one)
