The major concern with this recent move by LastPass is that many customers won't want to pay for a password manager, sending them back to old, insecure methods — reusing passwords, using weak passwords, keeping information saved in obvious places, etc. This would be a security disaster.

The LastPass vault is the central hub where all of your passwords and data are stored. There are two different ways to access your vault – locally using the LastPass web browser extension, and "online" by logging in to the LastPass website – each having their own benefits.

Can LastPass be hacked?

Can LastPass be hacked? LastPass encrypts information client side and has a zero-knowledge policy, so if anyone does hack into LastPass servers, they will only see encrypted information. The only way for anyone to access your sensitive data is to find out your master password, which can be done in many ways.

  1. Open your browser of choice and go to lastpass.com.
  2. Log in to your LastPass account.
  3. Go to lastpass.com/delete_account.php.
  4. Tap the Delete button.
  5. Tap Yes from the pop-up to confirm you have your Master Password.
  6. Enter your Master Password.
  7. Select Delete.

However, we are also investigating some reports of Vault updates and autofill not functioning properly, so I thank you for your patience while we get to the bottom of it. ^AC
