Description of the Service
Northern's Wi-Fi Service provides you with access to the Internet via Wi-Fi access points using an 802.11 standard (“Wi-Fi hotspots”). To access the Service, you must have a device that is compatible with the specific Wi-Fi equipment deployed at the Wi-Fi hotspot.
How does Wi-Fi work on trains?
Most trains that offer Wi-Fi are fitted with wireless access points that are designed to increase coverage throughout their carriages. These access points are connected to regular, everyday telephone networks, via mobile masts and/or satellites in order to provide the connection.
Do Trainline trains have Wi-Fi?
The WiFi service on Frecciarossa and Frecciargento trains is free. If you enter your phone number to activate your first-time access, there are no costs for using the WiFi.
How do trains use internet?
For accessing the service, passengers will have to provide mobile number, PNR number, Government ID (election card, Aadhar etc) for getting unique password by SMS on the mobile. The system will be scaled up to offer interactive multimedia entertainment with Internet Television in the future.
