How do I get my deposit back from the deposit protection scheme?
If you reach an agreement, your Landlord or Letting Agent will pay back the agreed amount of your deposit and contact us to confirm the deposit has been repaid. If you can't reach an agreement, you'll need to notify us of your dispute. To do this, email us at [email protected].

You receive five weeks' rent value of protection and do not need to take a deposit.

How do I get my deposit back from mydeposits?
Request deposit back
You will need to request your deposit back in writing and give your landlord 10 days to respond to the request. An editable PDF letter for you to complete and send to your landlord or letting agent at the end of the tenancy in order to formally request the return of your deposit.

Does a deposit protection certificate need to be signed?
In essence it is a receipt and does not need to be signed, and is not required by law.

mydeposits provides a Custodial tenancy deposit protection scheme. Landlords can join the scheme and lodge your deposit for it to be protected. Both parties can then communicate with the scheme at the end of the tenancy to arrange for it to be released.
