What is BP monograph?
BP monographs are designed for products that are manufactured within the quality framework for medicinal products. When applied within this framework, the identification test (or tests) in the monograph are sufficient to confirm that the drug product contains the drug substance on the label.
How do you use a BP monograph?
For a drug product to be compliant with a BP monograph: the monograph that was in force at the date of product manufacture should be applied e.g. BP 2019 is legally effective between 01/01/2019 and 31/12/2019. The effective date can be found in the Introduction section of the BP.
