Is Bulb Energy going bust?

UK energy supplier Bulb has been placed into special administration, making it the biggest company to go bust as a result of soaring gas prices so far and hitting 1.7m customers. Customers' credit balances will be protected, Bulb said in a statement, urging its subscribers not to worry.

Where do I find my Bulb account number?

At Bulb, we don't use account numbers. All we need to identify your account is your name and postcode. To keep your account secure, we might also ask you for some more details when you get in touch.

What happens to my Bulb account?

Any credit is protected – even if you left Bulb recently
If you're an existing customer, the credit will stay on your account and you can use it to pay for future energy use or request a refund as normal. If you've left the firm but you're owed credit, Bulb (or the administrator) will still pay this to you.
